Meter Minders, Inc. was established in 1995, when founder Sue Patton, a Virginia Beach realtor, discovered that friends and colleagues building new communities had a dire need for accurate water billing in their newly built communities, communities where the City provided only one master meter billing, but the builder wanted to provide a fair allocation of water costs to their new community owners.

In 2013, when Sue was ready to retire, Mandy and Jeff Sheppard, Virginia Beach natives, joined the team as new owners, working with Sue to learn the trade inside and out.

Although there are other trained technicians on site for meter readings, you can still see Mandy and Jeffrey Sheppard on site in many communities, either providing assessments, helping managers and HOA problem solve, performing the meter readings, or checking individual meters.
